Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our team as a GBS Field Operations Report Engineer. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting field data to provide valuable business insights and recommendations that will support strategic decision making, optimize sales operations and enhance business performance across the different AZ brands. This position requires both advanced analytical capabilities and expertise in ETL development, utilizing Python, SQL, and PySpark to process, cleanse, and integrate large datasets in a cloud-based environment. - Design, build, and maintain robust ETL pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark to collect, transform, and load large-scale data from multiple sources into reporting and analytics environments.
- Optimize ETL workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability in a cloud-based environment (e.g., AWS Databricks).
- Perform data cleansing, validation, and enrichment to ensure high data quality for downstream analytics and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve ETL pipeline issues in a timely manner to minimize data latency and ensure data accuracy.
- Document ETL processes, data flows, and data dictionaries to promote reusability and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Gather, extract, analyze and interpret field data from different sources to develop business insights
- Create various types of reports and visualizations to identify trends, patterns and key performance indicators related to business activities: sales, marketing, operations, and other processes
- Design and develop standardized and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and visualizations for business stakeholders
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to optimize sales and marketing strategies and effectiveness of field teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track key metrics related to field Operations
- Ensure data accuracy and completeness by performing regular data audits and reconciliations
- Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of business processes
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in data analysis. Experience with Pharma marketing data is a plus
- Proven hands-on experience in developing and managing ETL data pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark is a must have.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and best practices in ETL architecture.
- Experience working with large datasets in distributed computing environments, preferably leveraging Apache Spark and AWS Databricks.
- Proficiency in debugging, performance tuning, and optimizing ETL jobs to handle high-volume, complex data.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to validate data requirements and ensure robust data delivery for reporting solutions.
- CRT020: Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark 2.4 with Python 3 Certification is good to have.
- Experience in Report building using VBA automation is a good to have.
- Experience with IQVIA Xponent & DDD data is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and guidelines related to field reporting is a plus.
- Ability to derive, summarize and communicate insights from analyses.

Desirable
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a significant number of business stakeholders and cross-functional business partners
- Strong communication and influencing skills with demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present succinct, compelling reviews of independently developed analyses infused with insight and business implications/actions to be considered
- Strategic and critical thinking with the ability to engage, build and maintain credibility with Commercial Leadership Team
- Knowledge of AZ brand and science is highly desirable
- Should have excellent analytical, problem-solving ability. Should be able to grasp new concepts quickly
Proficiency in syndicated and custom, primary and secondary data, with inferential analysis and ability to identify insights from data.
In addition to strong analytical skills, should have excellent communication skills with a demonstrated track record of effective business partnership as demonstrated by material business impact and influencing.
